Family Reunion

This past weekend was my family reunion from my Dad's side.  It was fun to catch up with relatives, play some games, and relax.  I feel so blessed to have a pretty close extended family!  Here are some photos:

Anyone with 2 pups!

It used to be a little frustrating walking our two doggies.  Vinny is a good walker but can get distracted; Gino is distracted nearly the entire time.  I would have to walk them on either side of me which meant that each hand had a leash in it.  The other day we bought a leash from Petsmart that allows you to walk BOTH dogs on ONE leash!  It's not this exact one, but that's basically the style.  The pups figured out right away that they needed to walk calmly together or they would go flying in whatever direction the other would attempt to go.
It made walking them so fun that we did 40 minutes yesterday morning and 20 minutes last night!  And another 40 minutes this morning!  They are sound asleep and content now.  :o)

Losing it!

Howdy!
    So my weight loss "journey" has been rather disappointing and long... up until now!  It has taken a few weeks but I am on my way to losing a little over 10 lbs!  There are two websites I am now using on a regular basis that I highly recommend to anyone trying to lose weight/live a healthier lifestyle.  Both of these I found on other friends' blogs.
1) FREE calorie counter and more!  This website has helped me IMMENSELY.  I had always been one to say "I will never count calories."  After trying this site out I see how EASY it really is.  On this FREE site you: track calories, carbs, trans fats, cholesterol, etc.  You track your exercise and calories burned.  You can have your profile/food diary as visible or accessible as you want.  The people you meet on there are SO motivational and a lot are going through the same thing as you.  Honestly you HAAAAVE to check this out!

2) Activity Calculator Scroll to the bottom and enter your weight and duration of activity.  It has everything from gym activities to office work!

This year is half over?!

Being that 2011 is half over already, I thought I would look at my goals I had set:

1) READ BIBLE EVERY DAY!
This, sadly, I have not done.  I read my daily scripture every day but I have not actually opened my bible every day.  THIS is THEE MOST important thing to work on!


2) Raise at least $400 for the MS walk on Sunday May 1, 2011.  I want to walk the 7 miles so...
ACCOMPLISHED!  We raised $1,215.00 AND walked the full 7!

3) Be prepared to walk the 7 miles by walking everyday for at least an hour (or more)!
I did not walk EVERY DAY but I DID walk a lot to prepare!

4) Take vitamins everyday!
So far so good!

5) Teach Gino new tricks.
We haven't taught him any new tricks BUT we have gotten him a buddy named VINNY that he has had to learn with.

Bandwagon

I "fell off the bandwagon" recently with my New Years resolution of working out for at least an hour a day.  But I have jumped back on!  Tonight I walked 3.25 miles in 60 minutes.  Personal best, WOOT-WOOT.

Last night Gino and I played outside.  It was really fun running up and down the sidewalk on the freshly fallen snow.  It was very peaceful!  We had fun! :o)

The fundraiser last Saturday didn't go the way I had hoped.  It was great in that we made our goal!  It was not so great in that hardly anybody showed up! BOOOO.  >:(

Has anyone else noticed that they are awful at spelling/grammar now?  Spell check and auto-correct have ruined me!

Again!

Phew it's been busy!  I have gotten over 3 miles in 60 minutes! 
I will write more later.

So far...

Day 1:
352 Calories burned; 2.55 miles; 60 minutes.

Day 2:
 384 Calories burned; 2.87 miles; 60 minutes.

Day 3:
  394 Calories burned; 2.93 miles; 60 minutes 41 seconds.

Okay.  I know to most people that isn't very impressive but for someone who was pretty much never worked out at all (and hadn't in weeks) it feels GREAT!

There would be a day 4 but Hubby and I made dinner for my parents last night.  And then Hubby hurt his poor self and we ended up in the E.R. for four-ish hours.  Don't worry he is okay now!  Just a sprain! 

I wish I could make myself get up earlier to work out.  I am not a morning person but when I am finally up early I like it.  I have to get up for work at 5:00 ish so if I wanted to get up early enough to get a good work out I would have to get up at 4:00 ish.  Set my alarm many times but I can't do it, LOL.  So for now it's been after work.  However; we are going to get busy again so I won't have time after work!  Self disciple... self discipline...

Happy First Anniversary Baby!

A year ago today I was a very anxious bride!  My dad had to tell me to slow down because I was walking too fast down the aisle.  Our wedding was so beautiful.  Just our immediate family, candles, and happy tears!

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!  THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!  I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT 2011 HOLDS!
